The Fate of Lions
Africa's Lions May Be Deemed Threatened in U.S.—Will It Help?
This article from National Geographic on the fate of our beautiful lions gives some staggering statistics -
"...populations have fallen by two-thirds since the 1980s. Up to 76,000 lions roamed Africa in 1980, and that has dwindled to approximately 35,000 today."
Read about how this has impacted the way lions are treated right here in the United States.

...More to come soon!

OCTOBER 18th, 2011

- New artwork from the "Habitare" series has been added to the Artwork section. This work uses items that represent human habitat to create an animal encounter with the viewer (in their comfortable, everyday household habitat), that puts a spotlight on wildlife issues concerning endangered species & habitat loss. Taking over their habitats to better or expand ours results in the endangerment of these beautiful creatures.

- My work was displayed at Digable Arts Festival in the Monroe Center in Hoboken, NJ this weekend - October 15 - 16. Photos of my installations have been added to the Artwork section.
Read more about it here:

JULY 15, 2011

- My artwork is featured in the latest issue of the art publication Everything is Art, Issue X. View it HERE
It can be purchased through their store or Amazon.
This issue features the work of many great visual artists as well as interviews with Ami James, David Bromstad, and Russell Simmons.

- I also recently finished a cover illustration for a novel, to be published later this year, more info and pictures to come.

- Three articles which are incredibly important, very relevant to my work, and ongoing conservation battles; two are very recent and the other is from 2 years ago:

Wildlife crisis worse than economic crisis – IUCN
July 2, 2009
It’s time to recognize that nature is the largest company on Earth working for the benefit of 100 percent of humankindand it’s doing it for free. Governments should put as much effort, if not more, into saving nature as they do into saving economic and financial sectors.”

USA Today - Loss of predators in the food chain can alter the ecosystem
July 14, 2011, based off a paper in a recent edition of the journal Science.
"I think this might be the most important paper Science has published in a long time", "Humans need to not simply manage wildlife populations, but to realize they're managing often-complex ecological relationships"

National Geographic - Highway to Split Serengeti
June 28, 2011
There have been plans to build a highway across the Serengeti, to "boost the economy" of Tanzania. However, this would upset the ecology (in many ways) of Serengeti National Park, which is a protected area.
"If we can't protect the Serengeti, what can we protect?"
